Rashtriya Military School was established in the year of 1952 and initially, it was opened for only the sons of Defence Service officers. Later in 1954, the school became a member of IPSC that is Indian Public Schools Conference and names as Military School in 1966. In the year of 2007 on 25th of July, the school was named as Rashtriya Military School.
The school is a special study centre for students who are eager to serve the nation later in their future. Guideline for Admission
The admission exam is designed for class VI and class IX in December every year. It is an automated OMR based exam that is only for the students of class VI. For class IX there is no written exam. The students must not be less than 10 years and more than 11 years old for appearing in the written test. For class IX and age limit is not less than 13 years and more than 14 years. For class IX and XI, the admission is subjected to change based on the vacancies. Needless to say, this is solely for boys’ students. 70% of the JCOs or OR vacancies are preserved for the officers’ sons from the Army, Naval and Air Force. 30% of the vacancies are for wards of Officers of Army, Air Force and Naval including the retired officers. 50 seats are reserved forwards who are killed during the service. 15% and 7.5% seats are reserved for SC ST in all categories.
